Students Earn Honorable Mentions in Barry Goldwater Scholarship Competition

Columbus State University students Michael Rohly , a senior mathematics and biology major, and Candice Tate, a sophomore chemistry major, each earned honorable mentions in the 2017 Barry Goldwater Scholarship competition.

 

The Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation was established by Congress in 1986 to serve as a living memorial to honor the lifetime work of Senator Barry Goldwater. Scholarships are awarded to students who intend to pursue research careers in the natural sciences, mathematics and engineering.

Rohly was mentored by CSU biology professor Brian Schwartz and mathematics professor Guihong Fan. Tate was mentored by CSU chemistry professor Rajeev Dabke.
