Summer Camps at CSU

CHEERLEADING CAMP
Columbus State University will hold its 32nd annual cheerleading camp, for ages 4-14,
from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Friday, July 15 at the Lumpkin Center. The fee per person
is $85. For more information call 568-2317.
SPACE-O-RAMA
Columbus State University's Coca-Cola Space Science Center presents the summer camp
Space-O-Rama, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, at the space science
center at 701 Front Ave., Columbus. The camp examines the universe and includes constructing
and launching rockets, designing aliens, building sundials, playing space games and
more. The fee per person is $185. For more information call 649-1470.
THUNDER, LIGHTNING AND OTHER SCARY STUFF
Columbus State University's Coca-Cola Space Science Center presents Thunder, Lightning
and other Scary Stuff from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the space
science center at 701 Front Ave., Columbus. The camp examines extreme storms such
as hurricanes, tsunamis and tornados, and includes a visit to CNN headquarters in
Atlanta and an opportunity to work with a television meteorologist. The fee per person

ARTS EXPLORERS: APPALACHIAN
Columbus State University's Rankin Arts Center continues its summer Arts Explorers
series with Appalachian from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Rankin
Center, 1004 Broadway, Columbus. Separate sections accommodate ages 5-7 and 8-10.
The fee per person is $125 per section. For more information call 641-4000.
FUN CAMPS: CSI COLUMBUS, GAMES GALORE
Columbus State University Summer Fun Camps will continue from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday
through Friday at the Elizabeth Bradley Turner Center. CSI Columbus is a junior police
school with age-appropriate exercises including forensics and crime investigations.
Meanwhile, Games Galore covers various aspects of games, from designing and skill
development to competition. The fee person for each camp is $175. For more information

JULY 18-22 - FOLLOWING WEEKS SUMMER CAMPS

FUN CAMPS: MOVIES, MUSIC & MORE; WILD ABOUT WILDLIFE: 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Movies, Music and More . Elizabeth Bradley Turner Center focuses on the behind-the-scenes aspects of movie and music production. Meanwhile, Wild About Wildlife explores the wildlife at CSUs Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center. For more information call 568-2023.
BUILDING YOUR FIRST PC: 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. . Elizabeth Bradley Turner Center. Participants learn to build a basic computer, while learning about and assembling components such as the processor, motherboard and disk drive. $225 fee per person. For more information call 568-2023.
ROBOTICS: 9 a.m.-noon . Elizabeth Bradley Turner Center. Participants learn about robot building. $195 fee per person. For more information call 568-2023.
