Theatre Students attend Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival
February 12, 2015
Several Columbus State theatre students participated in the annual regional festival for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival , held this year in Albany, Georgia, February 4-8. Competitions are held in all areas of theatre production. Two CSU students, Austin Winchester and Maria Lopez, advanced to the final round of the acting competition , with Austin winning the Southeastern Theatre Conference award for Comedy. Molly Burch, a CSU Sophomore, won the regional competition for Stage Management, and earned an expenses-paid trip to the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. for the national KC-ACTF festival. The success of our students is the result of their own excellence and the training and coaching provided by theatre faculty throughout the year in preparation for the festival.###
