3 from CSU honored as local 'Rising Stars’ by ‘Chattahoochee and the Valley’ magazine

2022 Columbus and the Valley magazine local Rising Stars

In the 15th edition of its annual “Rising Stars” list, “Columbus and the Valley” magazine has recognized and profiled three emerging community leaders with ties to Columbus State University.

Ashley Schley earned her master’s degree in public administration from CSU in 2016. A member of the university staff since 2015, she currently serves as CSU’s director of annual giving and is the immediate past chair of the University Staff Council. Schley has been recognized for her involvement in the community through the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals, Women’s Initiative for Learning and Discovery (W.I.L.D) and Paws Humane Society.

Cameron Saunders is an attorney with Page, Scrantom, Sprouse, Tucker & Ford P.C. His CSU volunteer involvement includes service on the Columbus State University Athletics Association. Saunders’s community service includes the Columbus Young Lawyer Divison, Muscogee County Library Foundation and Columbus Bar Association.

Erica Walker, a 2010 CSU graduate with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, is a foundation associate with the Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley. She has been recognized for her involvement in the community through the Church of Columbus, Boys and Girls Club of Chattahoochee Valley and United Way of Chattahoochee Valley.

“The CSU family is known for solving real-world problems and discovering unexpected solutions,” said Jennifer Joyner, CSU’s assistant vice president for alumni engagement and special events. “By inspiring collaboration, reimagining education, expanding worlds, and cultivating creativity, they are creating better opportunities for others through the Chattahoochee Valley.”
