Trombonist Advances to Finals in National Solo Competition

Stephen Clayton, a sophomore bass trombonist in CSU’s Schwob School of Music, was selected as one of only three finalists in the National Solo Competition at the America Trombone Workshop in Washington, DC. Clayton is the reigning winner of last year’s workshop in the 18-and-under division. He will now compete with applicants up to age 23, including many graduate students from top programs across the country.
