Violinist Wins National Competition

He_LikaiSenior violinist and Woodruff scholar Likai He, a student of Prof. Sergiu Schwartz, The William B. and Sue Marie Turner Distinguished Faculty Chair in Violin, was awarded a $4,000 prize as a winner in the Competition for Strings of the Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota. The event took place April 11 at the Beatrice Friedman Symphony Center in Sarasota, Florida. Likai has been accepted for graduate studies with free tuition scholarship at both Yale School of Music and Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, where he will be enrolling for Master in Performance studies.
