Schwob School of Music Pianos Go On Sale

COLUMBUS, Ga. -- Steinway Piano Galleries of Atlanta is coordinating a public sale of Schwob School of Music pianos from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17 at the Saunders Center for Music Studies in the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts.

“This is a special, one-time event,” said Schwob School of Music Director Fred Cohen.

An Aug. 15-16 pre-sale by appointment (call 866-703-0248) will cater to CSU faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the university.

An inventory of about 50 pianos ranges in price from $30,000 to $599 (Spinet upright). The sale includes $690 digital models plus uprights and grands of various sizes and brand names including Yamaha, Steinway, Everett and Roland.

The sale follows the recent $2.5 million gift to CSU from the Maxine R. and Jack S. Schiffman Family Foundation. Announced on June 20, the donation is providing for the Schwob school to purchase 68 new Steinway pianos, which will be delivered and set up before fall classes start.

Steinway Piano Galleries of Atlanta is coordinating the public sale, and will provide delivery to buyers at an additional charge. Warranty coverage will be available with newer models, such as a selection of three-year-old Yamahas.

Credit card payments will be accepted. For more information, call the Schwob School of Music at 706-649-7225.
