Servant Leadership Program Applications due Jan. 31
COLUMBUS, Ga. -- Columbus State University’s unique Servant Leadership Program will accept applications from incoming freshmen through Jan. 31.
The competitive selection process for freshman entering CSU in fall 2008 requires applicants to submit by the deadline an application, essay, three letters of recommendation and an official high school transcript.
CSU’s program aims to develop in student participants the ability to make conscious decisions to better serve others. Servant leadership emphasizes collaboration, empathy and the ethical use of power.
Participants are given the opportunity to develop leadership skills through special classes, hands-on modeling of leadership practices, individual and group community service projects and much more. Scholarship participants are awarded a $1,250 stipend each semester for successful completion of program requirements.
An application, recommendation form and more information on the program are available at http://www.colstate.edu/servant. For more information, contact Stuart Rayfield, program director, by e-mail at rayfield_stuart@ColumbusState.edu or call 706-565-3655.
