UITS Showcases Services to Trustees
University Information and Technology Services showcased services to three Columbus State University Foundation trustees who toured UITS facilities June 14.
The trustees -- Tony Link, Frank Schley and Phil Tomlinson – met with Chief Information Officer Abraham George and other UITS team leaders to see and hear first-hand about technology UITS provides to students, faculty and staff.
Columbus State President Tim Mescon, Provost Tom Hackett, and vice presidents Kayron Laska and Tom Helton toured with the trustees each of the main campus UITS area: Center for Commerce and Technology, Simon Schwob Memorial Library and University Hall. At each stop on the tour, area managers shared about their team’s work. The managers talked about their staff, what they do, and some of their accomplishments and challenges.
After the tour, the group gathered back in the UITS conference room for lunch. During lunch, Abraham George and a few of the UITS directors spoke more about recent accomplishments. Abraham then talked about future projects and technology needs that the department faces to continue providing best-in-class technology and information services
Based on comments made by trustees, they apparently enjoyed the opportunity to see and hear first-hand about technology being utilized on campus.
