UITS Spring 2013 Projects

For the first time in many years, UITS composed a centralized list of projects within the 12 areas of the department.  The centralized list contains 81 projects with 45 (56%) of those in some state of progress.  The following is a list projects scheduled for the Spring 2013 semester.

  • Campus Fiber Infrastructure
    A $1 million dollar project where AT&T contractors will be running additional fiber network cables to improve network connectivity and redundancy.
  • CougarNet Upgrade
    Upgrading the CougarNet portal to version 5, which will require a complete reorganization of the content within the portal. Planned launch of the upgraded CougarNet is scheduled for the Summer.
  • Undergraduate Online Application
    A Columbus State University online Admissions application to encourage electronic submissions instead of paper-based.
  • DegreeWorks Implementation
    A  multi-department implementation of Ellucian Degree Works which is a comprehensive academic planning, advising, degree audit solution/tool.
  • Institutional Intelligence
    Starting phase II of Business Intelligence (BI) involving all aspects of finances, Peoplesoft and Banner Financial Aid. In addition, predictive analysis on retention, progression, and graduation (RPG) is also being developed.
  • LANDesk Implementation
    A project to replace the Zenworks software with a more robust computer management and security suite.
  • Howard 210 and Stanley 207 Instructional Technology Upgrade
    A project to upgrade the classroom’s multimedia technology during Spring Break with state-of-the-art equipment.
  • CSU Website Homepage Redesign
    A Web project to update the look of the University’s homepage as well as the look of the college and department website.
